Curation notes#
Pages: article 012514, pdf pages 1-11. The subject is multiply charged ions (not curated; notes only): n2 falls on ionisation (He+ 0.107 against He 3.543 x 10^-9 cm^2/TW static) and turns negative for Ne3+ to Ne5+, Ar5+, Ar6+, Kr5+, Kr6+ (Table II).
CONVENTION (Eq. 2, pdf page 2): the same Taylor expansion of the induced dipole as tarazkar_2014 (1/6, 1/2, 1/8, 1/4, 1/24 factors): T; DFWM gamma^(2)(-w; w, -w, w) ‘is related to the nonlinear refractive index n2’; for the neutral atoms gamma_par = gamma_zzzz (Eq. 3). Eq. (5) (pdf page 8): ‘n2 (cm^2/W) = 8.28 x 10^-23 gamma_DFWM (a.u.)’ (citing tarazkar_2015), with NO density stated. Inference (computed here, TC-256): with n2 = N gamma / (8 eps0^2 c n0^2), 8.28e-23 cm^2/W per a.u. is N = 2.50e25 m^-3, 1 atm at 293.9 K (ideal gas); the datasets carry this inferred state. Back-converted, the static n2 values correspond to gamma_DFWM(0) = 42.8 (He), 108.5 (Ne), 1162 (Ar), 2690 (Kr) a.u. (computed here), close to the CC static values (bishop_1989 43.104; host_2005 107.4, 1159, 2589).
DATASETS: Table II (pdf page 9, image checked), static n2 of neutral He, Ne, Ar, Kr, self coefficient (single-beam DFWM), electronic. The ‘lambda_min’ column (He 5.962, Ne 16.307, Ar 240.679, Kr 463.157 x 10^-9 cm^2/TW) is at a species-specific wavelength ‘about 100 nm above the two-photon absorption resonance’ that is not stated numerically: not recorded. Text (pdf page 8): ‘the n2 at 800 nm for He is calculated to be 3.64 x 10^-9 cm^2/TW and for Kr the n2 increases to 2.46 x 10^-7 cm^2/TW [27]’ (tarazkar_2014’s calculations): datasets n2_800nm_He, n2_800nm_Kr (reproduced from tarazkar_2014, whose paper states only the gamma^(4) and n4 values; the n2 here are this paper’s statement).
Recorded bibliographic identity status: VALIDATED. This concerns identification of the source; it does not establish the scientific correctness of its contents.
