Equal detection efficiency for He\+ and H2\+ is assumed \(eta in both Eqs\. 3\-4\); the focal volume, the spatial and temporal profiles and the photon statistics enter only through the intensity I, whose absolute value rests on the pulse energy, the 10 um spot and the assumed 300 fs\: the paper gives no formula for it\. A flat\-top estimate, E / \(300 fs pi \(5 um\)^2\), gives 2\.8, 2\.0, 1\.15 and 0\.55 x 10^13 W cm^\-2 at 61\.4, 58\.4, 56\.0 and 53\.4 nm, 0\.71, 0\.68, 0\.57 and 0\.42 of the central intensities the text gives \(the script\)\. PHOTON STATISTICS\: the SASE pulses' statistics \(and a G^\(2\) factor for a two\-photon rate\) are not mentioned and no correction is stated; the calibration against H2's one\-photon yield does not remove such a factor \(the two yields scale as I^2 and I\)\. The decrease of sigma with I that the paper reports at all four wavelengths is interpreted by the authors, with van der Hart and Bingham \(2005\), as light\-dressed\- state formation \(pp\. 4\-5\)\.
